Vitosha Mountain
Escape the city in minutes and find yourself surrounded by fresh air, scenic trails, and breathtaking views over Sofia. Vitosha is the perfect quick getaway into nature. You can reach it via buses (№ 61, 63 or 66), part of the Sofia transport network for just 0.80 EUR. Check Morenite, Kamen Del, Aleko, Kopitoto and others.

Koprivshtitsa

Koprivshtitsa preserves the atmosphere of the Bulgarian National Revival period of the 19th century, and is well known for its authentic Bulgarian architecture and for its folk music festivals, making it a tourist destination.
Up the river Iskar
Just a 100 kilometers away from the city, you will find river gorges, caves, springs and chuches. Walk beneath the famous “Eyes of God” in the Prohodna cave and experience one of Bulgaria’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders. You can also take a walk (or kayak/boat) down the Iskar-Panega eco trail.
